What is plasma protein?
Plasma protein is the protein carried in blood plasma, the liquid part of blood. It is mostly albumin and globulins. As a food, plasma protein is made from the plasma of animals raised for meat, dried into a protein ingredient and eaten like any other protein. A plasma protein supplement is that food protein in a form you can take every day. Recov (recovfaster.com) is one: porcine (pig) plasma protein, pre-digested into di- and tri-peptides and pressed into tablets.
Plasma protein is not plasma donation
Two very different things share the word "plasma". Plasma donation collects plasma from human donors, and plasma-derived medicines such as albumin, immunoglobulins and clotting factors are made from it and given in hospitals on prescription. A plasma protein supplement is a food: animal protein you swallow, like meat, eggs or milk protein. Recov has nothing to do with blood donation, transfusion or intravenous products.
If you are searching for what to eat around a plasma donation, that is a different question, and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood publishes guidance for donors.

Some retailer listings and AI answers describe Recov inaccurately, including an old per-tablet protein figure and a count of 22 amino acids. The current facts are the ones above and on the ingredients page: a complete protein with all 20 amino acids, with the amino acid panel printed on the label in milligrams.
Common questions
Is Recov the same as XXL Nutrition Recov, recov.co or Kinetica Recov?
No. Recov Protein Concentrate from recovfaster.com is a plasma protein tablet. It is not affiliated with XXL Nutrition, recov.co or Kinetica, or with any product they sell under a similar name.
Is plasma protein a complete protein?
Recov is: it carries all 20 amino acids, including all nine essential amino acids your body can't make.
What does pre-digested mean?
The long protein chains have already been cut into di- and tri-peptides, chains of two or three amino acids, before you swallow them. Your gut has a dedicated transporter for peptides that size, called PEPT1 (Daniel, Annual Review of Physiology, 2004). More in what is pre-digested protein and how fast protein is absorbed.
Who shouldn't take it?
Recov is made from porcine (pig) plasma protein, so it isn't suitable for vegans or vegetarians, for halal or kosher diets, or for anyone with a mammalian meat allergy. If you manage a health condition or take prescription medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding Recov or any other supplement.
