Essential amino acids

Nine your body can't make on its own, delivered pre-formed in every serve. Tap a card for the detail.

L-Leucine

Essential BCAA

L-Leucine

A branched-chain essential amino acid, and the most abundant in Recov. Central to muscle growth and repair.

Amount per serving:
210.00 mg

L-Leucine

L-Leucine is a key branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) that plays a crucial role in muscle growth and repair. It's the primary trigger of muscle protein synthesis, the process the body uses to build and maintain lean muscle mass.

L-Leucine also enhances exercise performance and recovery by supporting energy production and reducing muscle breakdown during intense physical activity. Beyond muscle, it helps regulate blood sugar and supports overall metabolic health, making it one of the most important aminos for anyone who trains.

In Recov it arrives already bound in peptides, so it's absorbed directly instead of waiting on hours of digestion.
L-Phenylalanine

Essential

L-Phenylalanine

An essential amino acid and a precursor to the neurotransmitters behind mood, focus and alertness.

Amount per serving:
170.40 mg

L-Phenylalanine

L-Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and a building block for proteins throughout the body. It's also the precursor to tyrosine and, through it, the neurotransmitters dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline that influence mood, focus, motivation and alertness.

Because the body cannot produce phenylalanine on its own, it must be obtained from the diet. It supports healthy nervous system function and contributes to the production of key signalling molecules tied to energy, cognition and the stress response.

In Recov it's delivered in its natural peptide-bound form, exactly as it occurs in whole plasma protein, and absorbed without the burden of digestion.
L-Lysine

Essential

L-Lysine

An essential amino acid that supports collagen, tissue repair and the body's use of calcium and iron.

Amount per serving:
164.20 mg

L-Lysine

L-Lysine is an essential amino acid that supports collagen formation, tissue growth and wound repair, helping keep skin, tendons and connective tissue strong. It plays an important role in calcium absorption and in how the body takes up and uses iron.

Lysine is also needed to produce carnitine, a compound that helps convert fat into usable energy, and it contributes to healthy immune function. As an essential amino acid, it can only come from food.

Recov supplies it pre-formed and already broken down into peptides, so it reaches you ready to use rather than waiting on hours of digestion.
L-Valine

Essential BCAA

L-Valine

A branched-chain essential amino acid that supports muscle growth, repair and energy.

Amount per serving:
162.20 mg

L-Valine

L-Valine is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), working alongside leucine and isoleucine to support muscle growth, tissue repair and energy production. During exercise it helps preserve lean muscle and reduce breakdown, and afterward it aids recovery.

Valine also plays a role in maintaining nitrogen balance and supporting a healthy metabolism, and it contributes to steady mental and physical energy. Because it's essential, it must come from the diet.

In Recov it's part of the complete, naturally occurring amino profile, delivered peptide-bound and absorbed directly rather than isolated and added back.
L-Histidine

Essential

L-Histidine

An essential amino acid used to build proteins and produce histamine and carnosine.

Amount per serving:
102.60 mg

L-Histidine

L-Histidine is an essential amino acid used to build proteins and to produce histamine, a molecule involved in immune response, digestion and healthy nerve function. It's also needed to form carnosine, which helps buffer acid in muscle during intense exercise and supports endurance.

Histidine plays a part in maintaining the myelin sheath that protects nerve cells, and in overall tissue growth and repair. It's essential across every stage of life and must be obtained from the diet.

Recov carries it in the full, naturally balanced ratio found in plasma protein, delivered in peptide form for direct absorption.
L-Threonine

Essential

L-Threonine

An essential amino acid supporting collagen, elastin and the gut's protective lining.

Amount per serving:
102.20 mg

L-Threonine

L-Threonine is an essential amino acid that supports the formation of collagen and elastin, the structural proteins that keep skin, tendons and connective tissue strong and supple. It also helps maintain the protective mucus lining of the gut, which is central to healthy digestion and immunity.

Threonine contributes to fat metabolism and to the body's overall protein balance, and supports immune function. Because it can't be made internally, it has to come from the diet.

Recov provides it already peptide-bound, so it arrives ready for your body to put straight to work.
L-Tryptophan

Essential

L-Tryptophan

An essential amino acid and the precursor to serotonin and melatonin.

Amount per serving:
82.64 mg

L-Tryptophan

L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid and the precursor to serotonin and melatonin, the molecules that regulate mood, calm, appetite and sleep. It's also used to build proteins throughout the body and to produce niacin (vitamin B3), which supports energy metabolism.

By supporting healthy serotonin levels, tryptophan plays a role in emotional wellbeing and restful sleep. Because it's essential, it must come from the diet.

In Recov it's present exactly as it occurs in whole plasma protein, no more and no less, in its natural peptide-bound form for direct absorption.
L-Methionine

Essential

L-Methionine

A sulphur-containing essential amino acid that starts protein building and feeds glutathione.

Amount per serving:
32.20 mg

L-Methionine

L-Methionine is a sulphur-containing essential amino acid that initiates the building of new proteins. As a key source of sulphur, it's a precursor to important compounds including glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, and it supports the body's natural detoxification pathways.

Methionine also contributes to healthy liver function and to the strength of skin, hair and nails. Because it's essential, it must be obtained from the diet.

Recov includes it in its naturally occurring amount, delivered pre-digested and peptide-bound so it's absorbed directly rather than waiting on the full digestive process.
L-Isoleucine

Essential BCAA

L-Isoleucine

A branched-chain essential amino acid supporting muscle metabolism, repair and energy.

Amount per serving:
5.80 mg

L-Isoleucine

L-Isoleucine is the third branched-chain amino acid (BCAA), working with leucine and valine to support muscle metabolism, tissue repair and energy production during exercise. It plays a role in helping the body use glucose for fuel and in regulating blood sugar, and it supports immune function and endurance.

By helping preserve lean muscle, isoleucine is valuable for both training and everyday recovery. It's essential and must come from the diet.

In whole plasma protein it naturally sits at a smaller level, and that's exactly what Recov delivers, in complete, peptide-bound form for direct absorption.

Non-essential amino acids

Your body can make these, but Recov still delivers them whole, exactly as they occur in plasma protein. Tap a card for the detail.

L-Alanine

Non-essential

L-Alanine

A non-essential amino acid central to energy metabolism and moving nitrogen from muscle to liver.

Amount per serving:
192.80 mg

L-Alanine

L-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid the body uses as a building block for protein and as a key player in energy metabolism. Through the glucose-alanine cycle it helps shuttle nitrogen from muscle to the liver and supports the body in producing glucose for steady energy, especially during exercise and fasting.

Alanine also supports immune function and healthy blood sugar regulation. While the body can make it, dietary alanine spares that effort.

In Recov it comes complete and peptide-bound, exactly as it occurs in plasma protein, and is absorbed directly rather than waiting on digestion.

Ornithine

A non-proteinogenic amino acid central to the urea cycle that clears ammonia.

Amount per serving:
0.010 mg

Ornithine

Ornithine is a non-proteinogenic amino acid, meaning it isn't used to build proteins but plays a key role in metabolism. It's a central part of the urea cycle, the pathway that clears ammonia from the body, and a precursor to other amino acids like arginine and proline.

Ornithine supports the body's handling of ammonia and healthy recovery, and appears in Recov as a natural trace component.

As with everything in the formula, it's delivered exactly as it occurs in plasma protein, peptide-bound and absorbed directly.

Minerals

One mineral, and only one. The iron your blood actually runs on, carried inside the protein itself. Tap the card for the detail.

Iron

Naturally occurring mineral

Iron

The one mineral in Recov: naturally occurring organic iron, the form your blood is built around.

Amount per serving:
4.46 mg
% RDI: 37%

Iron

Iron sits at the centre of haemoglobin, the molecule in your red blood cells that carries oxygen from your lungs to every tissue in the body. It's essential for energy, focus, normal immune function and reducing tiredness and fatigue, and low iron is one of the most common nutrient shortfalls, especially in women and active people.

Recov's iron is naturally occurring and organic, bound within the plasma protein rather than added as a synthetic salt, which makes it gentler on the gut than the ferrous forms most supplements use.

Every serve carries 4.5mg, delivered in the same peptide-bound form as the rest of the formula.

Tableting aids

Two processing aids, and nothing else. No fillers, sweeteners, flavours or proprietary blends. Tap a card for the detail.

Magnesium stearate

Tabletting aid

Magnesium stearate

A flow agent that keeps the powder moving evenly through the tablet press. It does nothing nutritionally.

Magnesium stearate

Magnesium stearate is a common, well-established tabletting aid used across the supplement and pharmaceutical industries. Its only job is mechanical: it stops the powder sticking to the machinery and helps each tablet form evenly and consistently.

It carries no nutritional benefit and makes no contribution to the amino-acid profile. It's here for one reason, to turn the protein into a tablet you can actually take, and it's why there are no fillers, binders or coatings beyond it.
Silicon dioxide

Tabletting aid

Silicon dioxide

An anti-caking agent that keeps the powder dry and free-flowing. It does nothing nutritionally.

Silicon dioxide

Silicon dioxide is a naturally occurring anti-caking agent, essentially a very fine powdered form of silica. In the tablet its only role is to absorb moisture and keep the powder from clumping, so the blend stays uniform and every tablet is consistent.

Like magnesium stearate, it carries no nutritional value and adds nothing to the amino-acid profile. It's a processing aid, listed here in full because Recov hides nothing that goes into the tablet.

FAQs

Protein arrives as long chains, and before your body can use any of it those chains have to be cut down into pieces two or three units long. That cutting is most of what your digestive system is doing after a shake. Recov is made by doing the cutting before it reaches you, so the protein turns up in pieces your gut takes up through PEPT1, a route in the gut wall that exists specifically for peptides.
BCAAs give you three amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. That is the whole product. Recov’s panel lists eighteen amino acids individually in milligrams, and you can read every row before you buy. BCAAs are not useless: they are three of the twenty your body builds with, sold on their own.
One protein source (porcine plasma) plus two processing aids that carry it into a tablet: magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. No sweeteners, flavours, colours or proprietary blends. With one ingredient and two aids there is very little to check and nowhere for a surprise to hide.
Porcine plasma is the closest amino-acid match to human plasma, and its peptides are pre-digested in nature, which is what lets them absorb the way they do. The source is the mechanism. It is not suitable for people who avoid porcine-derived ingredients.
No. Recov is made from porcine plasma protein, so it is not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone who avoids porcine-derived ingredients for dietary, religious or personal reasons.
Recov is made to EU manufacturing standards, every batch is third-party tested, and every ingredient is checked against the current WADA Prohibited List. It is built for athletes who get tested for a living. Anti-doping bodies do not approve or endorse supplements.

Ingredient names and per-tablet amounts are transcribed from the printed label. The per-serve column is our arithmetic: one serving is 4 tablets, so it is the printed figure multiplied by four. The class tags are ours as well. “Essential” marks the nine amino acids the body cannot make itself; BCAA marks the three branched-chain amino acids. The panel quantifies 21 rows in total: 18 standard amino acids, plus L-carnitine, ornithine and iron.

How to read it

Five things the label tells you.

01

All nine essentials are there.

Leucine, iso-leucine, valine, lysine, threonine, methionine, phenylalanine, histidine and tryptophan: the nine amino acids your body cannot make are all on the panel, including the three BCAAs most people buy as a separate product.

02

The calories barely register.

The label prints 1.97 kcal per tablet, which is 7.88 kcal for a full four-tablet serving. That is the whole energy contribution of a dose, and both figures are on the panel or one multiplication away from it.

03

Nothing else is added.

The entire “other ingredients” line is magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide, two standard processing aids: one lets the powder release cleanly from the press, the other keeps it free-flowing and stops it caking. No sweeteners, no flavours, no colours, no proprietary blends appear anywhere on the label.

04

Why 18 rows, not 20.

The panel lists eighteen amino acids by name because standard lab testing reports glutamine together with glutamate, and asparagine together with aspartate. Together they cover all twenty. Add the eighteen printed amino acid rows and you get 479.41 mg per tablet; add the iron and the two trace rows and the full quantified panel comes to 480.53 mg. Either way a four-tablet serve is 1.92 g, the number we quote everywhere else on this site.

05

The iron isn’t an additive.

The 1.115 mg of iron on the panel isn’t a mineral salt stirred in at the end. It comes structurally bound in the plasma protein itself, in the heme form: the same form iron takes in blood, and the form the body is built to handle. That is a consequence of what Recov is made from, not something added to improve the label.
